Hi everyone!! Welcome to the first day of sneak peeks for the TWO YEAR Birthday Celebration at Taylored Expressions! I’m so excited to share my first projects with you as part of the Baker’s Dozen! Today, I have an ADORABLE set to show you called “Make A Wish” from the Whimsical Wishes line by Nancy McKinney at Taylored Expressions! This set has the PERFECT birthday images and sentiments for both inside and outside of your card… it will definitely be a go-to set for all of those birthday cards that I need to make each year.
The Make a Wish stamp set is the next set in the TE Giving Tree series of special stamp sets to support various charities. This is such a great way to donate to an amazing cause! TE will donate $7.00 to a national children's charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions with each purchase of the Make A Wish stamp set.
(*In order to reduce the manufacturing cost and donate more to charity, charitable stamp sets are sold as a sheet of rubber and will need to be trimmed before using!!)For my first project, I used the new “Make a Wish” project pantry kit from Taylor to make a bright, uni-sex birthday card. If you haven’t received one of the TE Project Pantry kits before, than you HAVE to try one out. They are packed full of cardstock, designer paper, ribbons, accents, and more!
I thought this topsy-turvy cake was the perfect image to use for my first card with the set and after stamping it on Choice Snow White cardstock, I colored it with copic markers and hand-cut it. I mounted it with dimensional and applied a thick coat of crystal effects to the chocolate and bottom two layers of the cake. It’s SUPER glossy and looks like a ganache layer over the cake. YUMMO! I cut out a frame using oval and jumbo scallop oval Spellbinders Nestabilities die and then sewed it all together for my top layer.
Here is a close up of the shiny goodness:
For the sentiment, I stamped and hand cut the Make a Wish Sentiment into a banner, which I colored with Copics and then added a glitter brad to the corner (which was to cover an “oops” sewing machine incident! :)
In addition to the “Make a Wish” stamp set, I also used the first in a line of new border Taylored Dies called “Scalloped Eyelet Border”. I ADORE how you can use Taylor’s Tiny Twinkles in each of the eyelet holes to add a perfect accent on your card.
There are several other peeks today including an AWESOME border set called Borderlicious, Bubble Big Background, and new Balloon Taylored Dies that coordinate with the balloons in the Make a Wish set. All of these will be available for purchase on Friday, September 3rd at 8:00 am PST.
Check out the rest of the Baker's Dozen projects created with all of today's sneak peeks...
