ATS Sneak Peek - NEW C.C. Designs Gingersnaps (Spring Things!)

Saturday, February 28, 2009

Okay-- I TOLD you, you wouldn't want to miss this peek!! Take a look at SPRING THINGS from C.C. Designs!! Christine did it again with another absolutely ADORABLE stamp set that just SCREAMS Spring!!

I Love, LOVE, LOVVVEE it!! :)

And the best part--- There is ANOTHER cutie little Gingersnap in this set and more fun accessories. Stop by the ATS blog to see more of the design teams creations!!

For my card, I made a cloud background with a scallop punch that I sponged around randomly to form my background. The rest is all paper pieced and I used a thick layer of Crystal Effects on her rain puddle to give her something to splash in. (Here is a close-up!)

I know you'll love this set as much as I did and if I can get around to it this weekend, I'll have a few other cards posted with other releases from ATS including Mushroom Friends (a new set from Cookie Crumbs), Friends Sentiments (A GREAT sentiment set for friend cards), and one more C.C. Designs set. The cuteness just doesn't stop!

Have a great day and thanks to all of you for your constant support and kind words!! I appreciate them more than I can tell you!

CDS Final Sneak Peek - Daisies

Here are my last sneak peeks of Clear Dollar Stamps sets for this month--- these are using the APRIL FLOWER OF THE MONTH stamp set. (Make sure you jump around to the other CDS team members to see their wonderful works of art as well!)

Daisies are another one of my favorite flowers. I plant a row every year in my flower bed... and just love all the fun colors. My daughter's entire bedroom is themed in daisies with the Pottery Barn garden Daisies theme and it's just the cutest thing evah!! :)

I hope you had fun with all of the sneak peeks this week... still a few more to come from All That Scraps, so I hope you stop on back!! You won't want to miss them!!

Have a great Saturday!

CDS - MOOSE FRIENDS - Cute, cute, cute!

Thursday, February 26, 2009

Hi everyone-- Thanks for stopping by today! :) I have a super cute set to share from Clear Dollar Stamps called Moose Friends! I just LOVE this set. Sunflowers are some of my favorite flowers, so I was really excited and wanted to incorporate my own sunflowers on the first card.

I used the large Stampin' Up oval punch for the petals and then sponged a soft yellow Basic Grey DP with Vintage Photo ink to look like the center. The black accents are Halloween dew drops and I thought they would be the perfect touch!

Isn't this little baby moose just the cutest??
I went back to colored pencils and gamsol for the next card--- I hadn't used that to color forever, so I thought it would be fun. This was Taylor's Friday Cupcake Challenge layout and OF COURSE, I needed to add a little sunflower at the bottom. As if the two moose aren't cute enough, look at that CA-UTE little bird! Love it!
All of the details will be on the Clear Dollar Stamps gallery on the 1st, but if you have any questions, let me know!

MORE sneak peeks coming... this time for ALL THAT SCRAPS! YAY!! I love the end of the month peeks! :)

2nd post today... Got Tractor??

Well I DO!! :) Let me introduce you to a new set "GOT TRACTOR" from Clear Dollar Stamps. My 3 yr old LITERALLY squeaked when he saw these stamps. He has a grandpa who works for John Deere and tractors became an overnight HIT about a year ago. He has truck loads of them and so these cards made him VERY happy! ;) I've never seen a fun, realistic tractor set like this one, so it was a definite on my list from the new releases at CDS for March 1st.

This first card, I used watercolor paper with reinkers and then used my scissors to hand cut a wave into the brown cardstock to mimic the dirt piles that I drew into the oval. (I also cuttlebugged the brown with the bubbles folder to give it a fun texture!) The tractor was what was actually stamped and then the dirt mounds were added in after I cut it out with my nesties. The paper is from Cosmo Cricket and all of the recipe details will be on the Clear Dollar Stamps gallery, which will release these pictures and card recipes on March 1st.
The SECOND card was my "Ode to John Deere" card--- i had fun using the tractor wheel tracks to stamp a background in a slightly darker color than my core'dinations paper... and then I thought I needed some black tire marks to run off the page. This was the card Kaiden liked best, since it was John Deere colors... which makes it a REAL tractor! :)
Make sure you stop by the other artists sites today... the people with this set are: Laurie, Kim, Stacy, and Candy. Links for most of those gals are in my Clear Dollar list (Candy's will be on the CDS Gallery as well as Splitcoast!)
Thanks for stopping by and I'll "Moose" you until tomorrow .... Hmm... maybe a little hint of what's to come tomorrow?? :) Hee-Hee
Make sure you scroll down to see my FULL SUINK card that I previewed yesterday!

SUINK Sneak Peek - You're Some Bunny Special!

Well-- Today was quite the day--- some of which I can't go into until tomorrow, but let's just say that I may have a second job in internet criminal investigations. I'll share more about what's going on when I can, but I had planned to get some cards made tonight and instead had something very unexpected come up... it's a good excuse, trust me... and I'll be very glad when it all gets resolved.

On a better topic-- I've got sneaks, sneaks, and more SNEAKS for you today.

The first is from SUINK's little pre-pre-view I showed yesterday. This is the FULL card using a new set, "You're some bunny special" and there are some CUTIE pie images in the set.

I had a few "issues" with this card, but luckily I've become a master of "cover-up" to hide the "uh-oh's"--- so there is one under the basket, one that involved recropping my little easter gal (which I did end up cutting off a foot, but it was necessary!). So none-the-less... if the card has Bittersweet paper from Basic Grey, along with a cute bunny, fun sentiment, and Easter bonnet-- How could I really go wrong? :)

Cute, Cute, Cute! :) Stop by the rest of the teams blogs by going to the SUINK team blog or individual blogs found here:

This is just the first post of the night-- stay tuned for more coming up from CDS!

CDS and SUINK Sneak Peeks - Wanna be a CDS Guest?

Wednesday, February 25, 2009

Ugh-- I'm living in the land of the dead around here this week-- Kaiden got sick on Friday with a virus and has been running a 101-103 degree temp. I ended up picking it up and have had absolutely no energy for 3 days. I slept until almost 1pm yesterday with Kaiden, which was my second day home in a row. I finally came to life tonight for a while and we made dinner and I managed to get a few projects done. So enough of my whining--- there is a TON going on this week, starting with some sneak peeks!
SUINK will have peeks of two new sets going all week long... and here is the schedule. My day is tomorrow, but I included a little advanced sneak peek here... SHHH... Don't tell anyone! :) You can see the full card tomorrow! Be sure to check out the rest of the teams fabulous projects each day!

Mary Jo

Clear Dollar Stamps also has sneak peeks starting today--- I wasn't assigned any of the sneak peeks for today's sets, but check out the rest of the team blogs today and all week long. I'll have cards the next three days and you'll fall in LOVE with some of these sets!

Would you like to be a Clear Dollar Stamps Guest Designer for the month of March?

Lori announced a new Guest Designer position and all the details on how YOU can be the next Guest Designer for one month, using Clear Dollar Stamps new release stamps! Each month, just before the sneak previews begin, there will be a stamping challenge on Lori's blog: HERE.

***Challenge is open now through the end of February 28, 2009*** Go check it out and join in the CDS fun!!

Since I didn't have a card that I could show you tonight, here is a picture of my crazy little 1 year old... she has suddenly developed quite the little red-headed temper and personality. She loves to hit things, including the computer, the dog, her brothers, etc... she also thinks it's hilarious to throw random items (milk cup, binkies, toys, picture frames, anything within arms reach on the counter, etc..) I will be rethinking where I have a few things placed around the house with her current obsession. I painted her nails yesterday for the first time with a fun bright pink polish and she thinks she's pretty fancy right now with her pretty fingers and toes!
Have a great night and come back the rest of the week for sneak peeks galore!!

Magnolia Puppy Tilda for Jami FS107

Monday, February 23, 2009

Just a quick post--- I was inspired by Lauren M.'s post on Friday and went to work on my basement. I completely reorganized a storage closet and cleared out 5 garbage bags worth of stuff to donate, plus a bag and a half of trash! Wow!! It's incredible how much you can accumulate over the years! Organizing is one of those things that I feel so accomplished about after it's done, but I have to gear myself up for it. I'm very excited that I can actually walk in the closet now though!

To reward myself, I went and played an SCS challenge just because! I was excited to see that a blog buddy, Jami - SgtStamper was the featured stamper this week and I decided that I would finally play with my Magnolia - Tilda with Puppy Stamp. All That Scraps had a great selection of adorable Magnolia stamps that I just couldn't resist, so I picked up quite a few. I couldn't resist the cupcake for my sitting Tilda's!!

I need to get some sleep-- but my tip for the night is to go organize something--- it feels great to check one of those long standing chores off your list!

Card Goodies:
Stamps: Tilda with Puppy, Magnolia Cupcake, Whipper Snapper 29 again sentiment (Anna Wight cling)
Ink: Black Adriondack
Paper: Cupcake Basic Grey, Coredinations Peach, SU Whisper White
Copics: E00, E11, R20, E51, E57, Y00, Y11, Y15, YR61, YR68, G20, G99
Accessories: Buttons, scallop edge SU, Swiss Dots and Swirls CB Folder, Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities, Copic Markers, MS Punch, Black Zig Writer

What's cluckin' chick?

Saturday, February 21, 2009

I've been hard at work for some design team sneak peeks coming up, so while I'm working on the upcoming projects... here is a fun and BRIGHT Whipper Snapper card from the new Spring collection. This one could light up a room in the dark!

I've had a hard time using Pacific Point this catalog release (it just didn't do it for me as much as some of the other colors!)--- but I did find some matching ribbon, so I really liked how this turned out.

By the way-- Stampin' Up announced that it will return to ONE catalog per year with 2009/2010 Summer release. Hopefully that means they will put the supplies lists back in and not have the dorment lists--- I'll be glad when I can actually see all of the available sets in the book vs. checking a spreadsheet! I also checked the Occassions catalog sneak peek and there are some FUN accessories coming in the new catalog--- i think I'm finally going to cave and get a Big Shot--- those boxes and other dies are sucking me in!!

Review Preview Friday - Rockin' Out

Thursday, February 19, 2009

TGIF!! This week seemed like it took WAY too long for Friday to get here!

So is anyone else watching American Idol?? We religiously watch every season and I've got my list of early favorites--I LOVE Danny Gokey, the rocker/goth guy that will be on next week, and Alexis (the pink/blonde) from this week. I was extremely releived that the freak-girl "Tatiana" wasn't put through last night... Vote For the worst had her as their pick, so now I'm just crossing my fingers that she doesn't get through on the Wild Card show!

So to keep with the music theme--- my cards for the Friday review are with the "Rockin' Out" set from All That Scraps (C.C.Designs).

The first card used some fun paper from We R Memory Keepers White Out collection and Core'dinations cardstock. Christine's bears, bunnies, and other animals are some of my absolute favorites. I can't wait to start showing previews of next months sets--- SUPER CUTENESS comin' soon!! :)

I made the Rockin' Monkey a while back, but hadn't posted it on my blog yet. I airbrushed the background and used Basic Grey Cupcake DP. The star was made with one of those little star embossing folders and then I cut around it after I ran it through the CB. The buttons came from some random pack I picked up at Michael's (I think it was Making Memories)... and I used the Martha Stewart star edge punch on both cards. Have a great Friday and if you have any questions about supplies, just leave me a comment and I'll let you know specifics!

I'm prepping for a weekend with SIX kids overnight.... we'll have an 8, 7, 5, 4, 3, and 1 year old Saturday. (Well 3 are my own--- so it's not THAT bad... but I think I might need some earplugs, just in case!) :) WISH ME LUCK (and sanity!)

SUINK Whachadoin' Wednesday 28

Okay-- So by the time I got around to typing this up, TECHNICALLY, it's Thursday... however I made it on Wednesday, so I'll say I'm on time! :)

The challenge this week at SUINK was to make a treat holder for a wedding or St. Patrick's Day---- I was so excited to get an opportunity to try one of these cute little scallop envelope boxes. You use FOUR of the Sizzix scallop envelopes from Stampin' up and adhere the small side tabs and fold in the four bottom tabs. Add some decorations and it's just the cutest thing ever!! It holds a ton too!

The dark green DP around my little Irish gal is made with four small heart nestabilities that I adhered around the scallop layer. How cute is the "Kiss Me" saying with all the Hershey's Kisses!! I had to hunt through the pantry to find the green and silver ones too!!

Stamps: Blarney Stone from SUINK
Paper: Reminisce DP and Certainly Celery

I'm back... with Cookies and Cake

Tuesday, February 17, 2009

I'm BAAACCKKKKK..... I spent the weekend recovering from my trip--- as well as OBSESSIVELY reading all four of the Twilight series books. I spent SIX days without being near a stamp! Yikes! :)
I needed to catch up on the Friday Review Preview for All That Scraps--- so just go along with me and pretend today is Friday (I know I WISH it was!) :) The review was of Diane's Cookie sets, so I made a card with the little baker from Cookie Jar and used a sentiment from Cookie Jar-Gon, both at All That Scraps.
I couldn't resist using the gingerbread edge punch from the Martha Stewart christmas punches with this set--- I figured I could "mix my cookies" and get away with it on the card!
Colors are Sage Shadown, Vanilla, Riding Hood Red, and Cosmo Cricked Little Girl DP.
Since I'm on the "Sweets" theme--I also wanted to post a card I made before I left on my trip with the set from Storage Units, Ink and More called "Goin' To the Chapel". Other than masking to airbrush the background, the rest was really easy and I love the elegant cake in this set.
I apologize for the dark color, it really doesn't look like that IRL, but I messed with it and couldn't get it to come out any better on my camera.

Hopefully I'll be back in the swing of things soon-- my house needs a major cleaning overhaul, but oh well-- we had my parents over to play with the kids and eat with us tonight instead. It'll be clean someday (it might be when the kids are all grown and moved out, but SOMEDAY, I'm sure!!) :)

Whipper Snapper Cheesy Mouse

Thursday, February 12, 2009

I'm still hangin out at a hotel in New Jersey-- after a long day and wonderful dinner (which included a chocolate fondue dessert), I'm back in my room and made it just in time to watch Grey's. I LOVE that show combined with Private Practice. Back to the fondue--- it had strawberries, rasberries, blackberries, chocolate cake, cashew dipped bananas, chocolate cake, and gingersnap cookies along with the rich chocolate fondue. One word--- "YUH-UM!!!"

I'm still crossing my fingers that I make it home tomorrow-- -the winds in NJ caused over 3 hour delays all day today at the airport, so I have a feeling everything will be massively backed up tomorrow. I'm going to hunt down the 2nd book in the Twilight series-- I polished the first one off this morning. I now understand the addiction!!

I figured I'd post a Whipper Snapper card that I did a while back and never got around to posting... it's a little odd of a color combo with the grey, but I liked how it turned out once I found the gray button slide to match! The mouse is a new stamp from the Spring releases and the sentiments is from one of Anna's cling sets.

Hopefully, I'll be back in Iowa tomorrow sitting in my living room being crawled on by my kiddo's.

SUINKWWC27 - Blarney Stone Monochromatic

Wednesday, February 11, 2009

I had a "less than lucky" day today traveling--- I'm finally sitting in my hotel room, however I arrived at the airport at 8:30am and didn't get here until after 9pm. ICK!! On top of sitting in an aiport most of the day, the turbulence was awful and I had that awful lightheaded, instantly hot, "OH NO-- please don't let me be sick" feeling until we broke through the rough ride!!

I'll be VERY happy to be home on Friday--- I hear 10-12 inches of snow are forecasted, so I'm PRAYING that I make it there. I already miss my husband and kids!!

Well today is Whachadoin' Wednesday and since ya'll now know what I'm doin'---- I thought I would share a card I made before I left for the MONOCHROMATIC COLOR Challenge at Storage Units, Ink and More! This is again using the "Blarney Stone" set and I just love those shamrock brads!

I'm going back to the Twilight book that I started on the plane--- 3/4 of the way through and now I can't WAIT to read the other books!! It sucked me right in!!

Thanks for checkin' in!!

February 8, 2009 5:16 PM

CONGRATULATIONS Tracy --- Contact me at with your snail mail address and I'll ship your loot off!!

Speaking of loot--- I wanted to share a project with you that I had submitted for the Spellbinders design team contest. I was totally bummed not to make the top 24, but I know several of the gals who are on the list and they are SUPER talented.. so I'm crossing my fingers for all of them (despite my complete jealousy)... HA!! All of you who stop by regularly know I'm ADDICTED to my nesties, so I told my husband that I'd get him my LONG wish list for Valentines, Birthday, Anniversary gifts this year! :)

One of the projects they requested for submission was a scrapbooking page (which I hadn't made for a while due to my card addiction!) --- So here is what I came up with using pictures from my oldest son's Halloween costume last year.

I printed the title and journaling with a Pirate font from 2Peas and cut them out with the Curvy Rectangle dies. I sponged the edges with Vintage distress ink and used my AHOY MATEY Stampin' Up Set to make faux maps all over the cut out nestie shapes. I used a swirly red Cosmo Cricket DP to match the pirate theme. I colored the ship in the center with copics and then "squished" it into a ball and then flattened it to give it an old map look.

Thanks for dropping by and I'll have more blog candy soon--- that was lots of fun and I loved all of the recipes.

I'll be back later with a WINNER! :)

OH AND FOR MORE BLOG CANDY FUN--- stop by my blog friend Michelle's blog "MOMMY TIME" to enter her blog candy with HIGH HOPES stamps!

TECC53 Cowberries.... Yummmm...

TGIF!! Although it hasn't seemed like Friday. I've been working all night-- my day job is driving me a little crazy, so I've been getting work calls all night tonight, UGH! The boys all went to Target and Parker couldn't resist running downstairs to immediately give me the "LOVE" puppy that they picked out for me for Valentine's--- he's not good with secrets! :)

Well the other positive tonight was that between calls and emails, I managed to get a card made for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge and I FINALLY inked up my little Tilda with her ?Cowberry? muffin. I had my hair cut and colored all sorts of blondes and darker shades yesterday, so I thought she should match!

I flipped Taylor's sketch sideways to make her fit--- she would have looked a little odd otherwise!
I LOVED how the punched strip of purple looked with my MS lace heart edge--- with the circle and matching MS lace heart (THANKS again Kerry!), Doesn't it look like a little heart key??? Adorable!! The paper is from K&Co and carstock is Core'dinations. I picked up the pink rhinestones at Michael's.

Thanks for stopping and I'll be posting my blog candy in a seperate post tonight, so come back to enter!

Warm and Cozy Cheep Talk

Happy Friday! Thank GOODNESS! I've been waitin' all week for this day.... hmmm... well I guess I wait all week, EVERY week for Friday, that's why it's at the end of the week. I digress...

It's Review Preview Friday at All That Scraps and the review this week is of Amy R's "Warm and Cozy" set. I threw this together SUPER fast, so I wasn't 100% thrilled with how it turned out, but I like the concept!

This is using the Scallop Envelope Big Shot die from Stampin' Up!... I cut two envelopes in Garden Green (a color I haven't used in probably a YEAR!) and once I had the two envelopes, I cut the tab across from the scallop edge so that it was even with the two "tabs" on opposite sides and then glued the three tabs together. I paper pieced mittens and used a 1 3/8" punch and the Scallop Punch from SU to go behind them. This little box holds a mini size of M&M's or a Ghiradelli square perfectly--- and Can you GET any easier?? Nope, I don't think ya can!
I'll do a quick tutorial if anyone has questions on how I did it--- now that I read my explanation it might be a little confusing, but it was really easy!
The second card is my FIRST inking of "Cheep Talk" from Stampin' Up, which you can purchase online HERE--- Item: 113204 ($26.95). With Sale-A-Bration going on, you can purchase that stamp set, the Scallop Envelope (item: 113462) that I used above ($21.95) (that die is a Stampin' Up Exclusive!) , along with some Stampin' Dimensionals ($3.95) and you earn a FREE stamp set, paper pack or ribbon bundle of your choice from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog, which you can access HERE. In addition, if you place your order online from the link above, you receive a FREE copy of the Spring/Summer Catalog (a 9.95 value!) I'm really liking the Good Morning Sunshine paper designs (that's the brown retro stuff on the card)-- there were several of the new DP packs that will find their way to my house this catalog!

Thanks for stopping by today-- I have some cute Whipper Snapper and Magnolia cards to show you this weekend, along with some BLOG Candy-- so don't miss it!! If you stop by the Whipper Snapper online store (, you'll see some cards I designed. (All 4 on the homepage were cards that I made--- HOLY WOW!) :) Thanks Lisa!

SUINKWWC26 - Grow old with me...

Wednesday, February 4, 2009

It's Whachadoin' Wednesday at SUINK and this week it's a LONG card sketch challenge. Jump to the blog to see the sketch and play along!

This is my first card with "Goin' to the Chapel" and I was really happy with how it turned out. I always forget how nice embossing on black can be for a background. I stamped the bouquet's in versamark and then used Vanilla Embossing powder.

I used another of the Michael's LOVE charms-- I've gotten my $3.00 worth out of those! :)

My little bride is colored with copics-- E50 and E51 for the dress, R27 for the Roses, E00, E11, and R20 for her face, Y21 and Y11 for her hair, and then BG10 and BG13 for the "glow" around her. She's cut out using my circle nesties and then mounted on some more of that Sabrina paper pack from Making Memories that I'm lovin' lately.

Target - PUNCH Owl Card and instructions

I saw an adorable card from SmileyFace55 on Splitcoast the other day and just KNEW I needed to case it. Her card, HERE, caught my eye immediately with that cute owl mug that I spotted at Target. While I was picking up the mug, I noticed a CA-UTE little owl placecard holder, and for $1.99, which is like basically FREE, right? (I'm in trouble with my husband for even saying that!) lol...
Here is a picture of the punches I used, as well as the miscellaneous "parts". I used the smallest size circle nestabilities die for the white part of the owl eye. The other punches used include:

1. 1/2" SU circle punch (BLACK eyes)
2. Boho Blossoms (beak in banana from the 6 pointed star -- I took a straight edge and lined it up with a single part of the flower to cut the nose.
3. 1 3/8 inch SU circle punch (Regal Rose (after I had already punched the hearts) and Red body underneath the hearts layer.
4. Photo Corner punch - SU
5. Round Tab punch SU
6. Martha Stewart Heart Confetti punch (in the general area, not a Valentine exclusive!)

I was excited to have FINALLY found a use for my MS confetti heart punch! Punch the hearts out FIRST, then cut out the 1 3/8" circle around it for the tummy. Use the opposite color with the same size punch to go underneath.

Here is a picture of the owl assembled, next an unassembled version to see the punches used:
I altered the card that inspired me and made the little red owl a little pal. He looked lonely without a girlfriend! Here is the completed card with a gift set mug from Target.
Here is a close up of just the card... The sentiment is a "DUH- Tori" moment--- I thought it said "thanks, i OWL you one, maybe two"--- which made complete sense with this card. After it was completely made, I noticed it said OWE. The sentiment and hearts are from the level 3 hostess set "Goody Goody Gumdrops" and since it was already on there, I figured it looked cute and it was tacked down, so I went with it! "Hoo-Hoo"pe you have a great day!! :) (SCROLL DOWN TO SEE MY OTHER POST from today!)
